Due to a scheduling conflict the Broadway Connection could not participate in the Austrian Open 2012 in Klagenfurt. Therefore, our dancers had to arrive a day early to convince the judges in the pre-qualification rounds.

49 dances of the Broadway Connection qualified and starting Friday, May 18 participated in the ASDU European Championships 2012 in Muscial and Showdance in Oberpullendorf. In total 1,387 dancers from 61 dance schools with 398 dances were qualified.

Besides very tough judges and quite some exceptional contributions of other dance schools, all our dances qualified for the Final Round. After outstanding performances in the Final Round our dancers returned with 16 European Championship Titles, 6 Runner-Ups and 10 Third Places.

Great Results at the Austrian Open 2012 in Klagenfurt

Due to scheduling difficulties the Broadway Connection could only send a small but powerful team of 4 students to the ASDU Austrian Open 2012 in Klagenfurt. The result of our dancers is impressive:

Sophie Rath won the 1st place and National Champion against 14 competitors in the category Contemporary. She confirmed her strength with three Runner-Ups in the categories Jazz, Tap and Musical.

Her brother Niki won together with Meta Schumy the 1st place and National Championship Title in the category Contemporary. Meta won also the 1st place and National Champion in the category Song & Dance. Anna Rath came in second in the category Musical and fourth in Jazz. Again congratulations to such a great result!

A big thank to all parents and supporters who helped our students with the organisation, the hair, the make-up and the costume changes.

Not only our students were successful, some of our teachers started with their own dance crew. We would like to congratulate our Academy students and Broadway Connection teachers Miriam Lechlech and Ralph Galvin and our teacher Sascha Gruber together with their Dance Crew to a Diamond award in the category Open.

Broadway Connection celebrates another Outstanding Result at the Austrian Open 2011 in Linz

From March 11 – 13, 2011 the ASDU Austrian Open in Musical & Showdance took place in Linz/Upper Austria. Over 1,000 participants and 411 dances from all over Austria came together to be judged and awared in different disciplines.

Besides evergrowing competition, KrisTina Decker and the students of the Broadway Connection Competition Team even succeeded last year’s result and celebrated 15 National Championship Titles, 8 Runner-Ups and 4 Third Places. The dancers in the Final Round competed in the disciplines Open, Contemporary (Modern), Classik-Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Song & Dance and Musical.

KrisTina Decker is proud and thankful to be able to work with such disciplined and talented children and youngster and congratulates all to their great achievements at the Austrian Open 2011! You are the Stars …

From March 19-21, 2010 the ASDU Austrian Open in Musical and Showdance took place in Liezen/Steiermark. 1,200 participants and 436 dances from all over Austria came together to be judged and awarded in various disciplines.

Besides strong competitors, KrisTina Decker and the students of the Broadway Connection Competition Team celebrated 14 National Campions, 6 Runner-Ups and 3 Third Places. Our dancers in the final round competed in the disciplines Open, Modern/Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Song & Dance and Musical.

In additon to this great result of all our dancer, we witnessed also three special awards:

For many years Corvin Frantsits was a student of KrisTina Decker where he gathered a lot of experience and inspiration. His self-choreographed Tap solo received one of only four Diamond Awards (awarded for dances with 110 or more points – out of 120)!

At the same time his dance achieved the Highest Points in his age group “Juniors II”!

From the Board of the ASDU, our Academy Student and Teacher Wei-Ken Liao received as special award for his long career as successful competition dancer and an “Exceptional Artist“!

Once again it was time, from May 1-3, 2009 the dancers of the Broadway Connection demonstrated their skills, talent and commitment.

At the European Championships in Klagenfurt they won 17 European Championship Titles and 10 Runner-Ups. In addition our student Sophie Rath was declared the Future Talent 2009!

From March 26-29, 2009 the ASDU Austrian Open 2009 in Musical and Showdance in Matrei/Osttirol took place. Our Competition Team returned with the best result in the history of the Broadway Connection!

In a highly competative competition, our dances won 19 National Championship Titles, 10 Runner-Ups and 2 Third Places.

The Tap solo of Corvin Frantsits with 107 points only slightly missed the diamond recognition. His dance had also the highest points amongst the classical categories, only few production numbers received more points.

We thank all the dancers for their commitment in the preparation phase and during the competition. Our choreographers earn thanks for their beautiful dances. Thanks goes also to those parents that actively help that the competitions run so smoothly.

In May our students went to the European Open 2008 in Poreč, Croatia which not only awarded European Awards but this time also World Championship Titles.

Our protégés were able to return again with many awards, they won 3 European & World Championship Titles, 6 European & World Runner-Ups as well as 8 Gold, 12 Silver and 1 Bronze Medal.

Based on her strong performance our student Michaele Pircher received a scholarship for education in Germany.

A big thanks to all the dancers that mastered this competition so bravely and gave us a lot of fun. Thanks to all the parent that helped a lot and especially KrisTina Decker for her swinging choreographies.
