20 Years KBC Anniversary Dance Recital “Dancing from the Heart”

It’s been an incredible 20 years since musical star Kristina Decker (CATS, The Beauty and the Beast, Dance of the Vampires, etc.) opened her own dance studio and her own musical education at Nestroyplatz in the second district.

The professional education at the Broadway Academy of Musical Theatre has started the careers of numerous artists, be it as performer on theater or musical stages, as a choreographer or as director of their own dance studio.

For children and young people, Kristina’s Broadway Connection offers a wide range of dance options, whether in the hobby classes or in the contest groups of the Junior Dance Academy.

For our 20 years anniversary show on Sunday, June 18th 2023 at 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Theater Akzent we have come up with a nice potpourri of song, dance and music from our academy students, competition groups and hobby dancers.

With a lot of heart and feeling, our big and small dancers present their dances elaborated during the school year. Our competition teams will present their award winning choreographies.

We are very happy to announce that Pascale will be part of our team again from September after her baby break. We are thrilled that she will not only work as a dance teacher, but also as part of our organization team. Pascale brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will inspire and motivate our students.

Her return as a dance teacher is an asset to our studio and we are thrilled to be able to work with her again. We are sure that it will encourage our students to do their best and improve their dance skills.

We are proud to have Pascale as part of our team and look forward to having a great time together full of dancing and joy.

KBC Contest Team 2023, Austrian Dance Cup Bad Ischl

The hard work of our dancers and choreographers over the past few months was rewarded on Palm Sunday weekend at the Austrian Dance Cup 2023 in Bad Ischl.

Our competition team returns from the competition with an impressive 19 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals. Of course, we are particularly happy for and with the winners of 4 special awards:

The highest number of points in their age category was achieved by Elena Mihajlovic with BOOGIE WOOGIE for the minis, as well as Luisa Solowjowa, Jan Labner & Filipos Psychogios with PHANTOM for the seniors.

Luisa also received the Outstanding Dancer award. Our director, choreographer and seamstress Kristina Decker was particularly pleased about the award for the best costume.

After the well-deserved break, training will continue after Easter and we are already looking forward to the next competition in Porec/Croatia.

Silver & Gold for Hannah Z., Amita D. & Jasmina K., ADC 2023

On the first day of the Austrian Dance Cup 2023 in Bad Ischl we celebrate already two podium places:

Hannah Z. achieved an excellent second place with her acro solo I’M A WARRIOR.

Amita D. and Jasmina K. and their acro duo PIRATE GALS also took first place in Bad Ischl, as they did at DanceStar in Bratislava.

We are happy about this great performance and wish all our dancers a lot of fun and toi, toi, toi for the competitions on Saturday and Sunday.

Tap Quartett Children – Amita Dvorak, Elena Mihajlovic, Jasmina Knollmayer & Maja Majdanac, DanceStar SK 2023

On the weekend of March 10-12, 2023, our youngest dancers took part in their first competition of the season – the DanceStar Qualifier in Bratislava.

With great competition from more than 1,500 dancers from four nations, all soloists were able to qualify for the World Masters in Poreč and the qualification was also achieved in the quartet.

In addition, three gold medals and two silver medals could be taken home with this performance.
