Exceptional Achievement at the European Open 2005 in Leonding

European Open 2005

The students of the Broadway Connection are unbeatable! All 10 dances we sent to the European Open made it to the podium: they won 4 Gold and European Championship Titles as well as 5 Silver and 1 Bronze. One of our winning groups got so many points that they got promoted to the professional league.  That’s the great result of the Viennese Dance Studio Broadway Connection at the European Open 2005 in Musical & Showdance.

The European Open 2005 was the biggest Musical & Showdance Championship so far. Around 1,500 participants from 10 countries were in Linz/Leonding on the weekend of May 6-8, 2005 to compete for the European Championship Titles.

Already at the Austrian Open the team of the Broadway Connection scored: Next to 3 National Titles and 7 Runner-Ups, Michaela Pircher was awared Future Talent and KrisTina Decker was recognised for the Best Choreography.

“I am very proud of my students. After the great success at the Austrian Open, they proved their skills also at the European Open. The outstanding result of Gold and Silver Medals is the result of hard word and intensiv training. It is really important to me to cater to the needs of my students which is also the reason for manageable class sizes. Our professional teachers provide our students with a solid base for a future stage career, while ensuring there is still fun. I am really happy about the fact that after only such a short existence of the Broadway Connection we have so much success, this really promises a lot for its future. One can see that Vienna can easily compete with Musical and Dance Metropols like London and New York.” says KrisTina Decker, the founder and director of the Broadway Connection.

The next chance for our young talents to proof their skills will be at the “US Open“. Two of our European Open dances qualified and will compete in July for the World Championship Title in Las Vegas.

Great Success at the Austrian Open 2005 in Matrei

Austrian Open 2005

The Austrian Open 2005 was the so far largest Musical and Showdance Competition in Austria. Around 800 participants from all states came to Matrei (Osttirol) on the weekend from April 9-11, 2005 to compete for the National Championship Titles.

Nachwuchstalent Michaela Pircher

Best New Talent 2005 Michaela Pircher

And the Broadway Connection superceeded all expectations! Our students won 3 National Championship Titles and 7 Runner-Ups. Our 15-year old Michaela Pircher received a lot of attention. The judges liked her performances so much that they selcted her for the Best New Talent Award.

“I am very proud of the Broadway Connection team. While the Broadway Connection only exists for a bit more than a year, we won many prices at this great competition”, celebrates KrisTina Decker, the founder and director of the Broadway Connection. KrisTina herself received the Special Award for Best Choreography for her dance HANDS OFF.

The gold/silver result of the Broadway Connection confirms KrisTina Decker’s approach at the dance education for youth: Professionals share their knowledge, custom-made training for the students and manageable class size. Goal of the school is to offer – in addition to a broad range of dance styles – acting, singing and acrobatic. With that “Vienna’s First Show School” provides a solid foundation for a professional stage career.

The best dances of the Austrian Open qualify for the “EUROPEAN OPEN”, which is the qualifyer for the “US OPEN” in America. The Broadway Connection already won a silver medal at the US Open last year. Therefore, for this year’s US Open the expectations are high.

Cindy’s Dream

Cindy's Dream

Poster: Cindy’s Dream

After the dead of her father Tom, Cindy is living with her stepmother Fricka and her malicious daughters Brünhilde and Sieglinde. Different to her two stepsisters, Cindy has to work hard alongside school. And of all things in Fricka’s Restaurant, which used to belong to Cindy’s father.

Furthermore, Fricka has all kinds of tasks for her. And that not enough, Cindy is also the outcast in school and has to suffer daily from derogative and malicious comments of Buffy, the head cheerleader and her friends Kristy and Ashley.

The only comfort Cindy finds is from her best friend Archie and the restaurant employees, who became her true family.

Her sad private life gets a wonderful spin when she meets her prince charming in a chat and starts conversing with him per SMS.

At the masked ball she discovers however, that her secret admirer is the most liked student of the entire school: heart-throb and football captain Jason.

Scared of fear not to be liked by him, Cindy hides her true identity and runs off the ball early.

But with all the excitement she forgets her mobile …

We shall see, whether Cindy will find her prince charming – or better, whether he will find her!

All that – and more in Theater Akzent …
