Dance World Cup 2013

Excellent Results at the Dance World Cup 2013 in Brighton, UK

Dance World Cup 2013

Broadway Connection Competition Team, Dance World Cup 2013

At the 4th Austrian Ballet Competition in Villach many of the dances of the Broadway Connection qualified for the international tournament, the Dance World Cup 2013. Thanks to their great results in Carinthia Sophia Pechlaner and the siblings Niki, Anna and Sophie Rath had the chance to compete in Great Britain. Unfortunately, many of the other dancers could not make it.

Together with their parents and their choreographers KrisTina Decker and Petra Böhm, in the first week of July the young talents travelled to the beautiful town Brighton, where this year’s Dance World Cup was hosted.

The competition was stronger and more international then ever, with dances from Portugal, Great Britain, Ireland, South Africa, to name a few. Which makes the success of our four dancers even more impressive:

What Makes You Beautiful

What Makes You Beautiful, Sophie Pechlaner & Niki Rath

Sophie Pechlaner and Niki Rath achieved the great 13th place out of 28 with their Duo “What Makes You Beautiful”, and that even after being moved from their age group “Minis” up to “Kids”. Also Anna Rath was happy about her 22nd place with her Contemporary Solo “Another Now” beating 10 of her competitors. In the category Tap with “Miss Celies Pants” Sophie Rath danced on the 8th place out of 16. In Jazz with “Toxic” she got the sensational 6th place, beating nearly a dozen of her strong competitors.

Considering the great time the four talents had with their families and teachers in Brighton, both in the competition and outside, dancers of the Kids & Youth Academy plan and hope for a repeated qualification at the Austrian Dance Cup next year in Bad Ischl to get a ticket for the Dance World Cup 2014 in Portugal.

We celebrate together with the participants about this outstanding achievements and congratulate!
